Graduation Requirements
All students attending Bayside must earn 155 credits in required courses. These are:
Subject | Credits Required |
English Language Arts | 40 |
Mathematics | 30 |
Science | 20 |
Ethnic Studies* | |
World Language/Fine Arts/Career Technical Education | 10 |
Social Science | 30 |
Physical Education | 20 |
Total Required Credits | 150 |
Electives | 70 |
Total | 220 |
Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors are required to meet the district's 220 credit graduation requirement. That is 150 credits in required classes plus 70 credits in elective classes even while attending Bayside.
As of the 2020-2021 school year, Seniors attending Bayside are only required to have 180 credits to graduate.. They still need the 150 credits in the required classes plus an additional 30 credits in elective credits rather than the normal 70 credits. This is due to the limited elective classes that can be offered on a smaller alternative education campus like Bayside.
*A recent legislative change adding Ethnic Studies to the graduation requirements was passed in 2021. Implementation of the course and an effective date for its start is pending action by the School Board.
