MORENO VALLEY, Calif. - The California State University San Bernardino’s College of Education announced Superintendent Dr. Martinrex Kedziora as a recipient of the Outstanding Superintendent Recognition Award of Riverside County yesterday at its 2022 Educational Leadership Summit. He was selected for his service and dedication to excellence in education while serving as Superintendent of Moreno Valley Unified School District.

The CSUSB College of Education’s Educational Leadership Summit brings together Southern California’s top educational leaders to engage in topics that will enhance K-12 and higher education opportunities. As part of the event, there is an award ceremony where individuals and organizations are recognized for making significant contributions to the field of teaching and learning in the region, and helped to facilitate the mission of the CSUSB College of Education which is to inspire students and to serve communities through teaching and learning.

Dean Chinaka DomNwachukwu from the James R. Watson & Judy Rodriguez Watson College of Education of California State University San Bernardino honored Dr. Kedziora at the conference for his outstanding achievements.

“We hope that his leadership will inspire other educational leaders in the region to make the education landscape more welcoming to students and teachers of every… cultural background,” announced Dean Chinaka DomNwachukwu.

As the superintendent accepted the award and began to speak, he asked the Moreno Valley Unified School District team to stand. The Board of Education, cabinet members, superintendent’s office, counselors, district administrators and students stood in his honor.

“You are the reason why we get this award,” said Dr. Kedziora. “I would not be here without these students and for all of you. We show people that it is possible. Thank you all for this honor and thank you for being here.”

This year's event was titled Educational Leadership and Voice for Critical Action, Driving Educational Policies and Practices in an Era of Change. The conference featured various speaker presentations, workshops, and activities equipping attendees with the latest insights, trends, and tips in education. Representative Mark Takano, who serves on the Education Committee of the US Congress, was one of the keynote speakers. San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, Ted Alejandre, was the afternoon keynote speaker.

“Dr. Kedziora is an exceptional leader,” said School Board President Cleveland Johnson. “We are all proud of him for this achievement. We are happy to have been able to be there to support him and be there as a team. He is truly making a difference and serves as a model for others to follow.”
